Quality

Quality built into production.

A component is only complete when it meets the agreed specification. At Ferroline, quality control is integrated into the manufacturing process — from drawing review and material identification through production, dimensional inspection and final release.

From Specification to Verified Component

Quality starts before machining begins.

Reliable production requires more than inspecting a finished part. Before manufacturing starts, the technical requirements of the component are reviewed to identify the characteristics that matter to production and inspection.

The result is a production process built around the component specification rather than inspection being treated as a final step.

Inspection Throughout Production

Control at the stages that matter.

Depending on the component and project requirements, inspection can take place at multiple stages of production.

01

Incoming material

Material is checked against the specified production requirements before manufacturing.

02

First component

Initial production can be verified before the complete batch proceeds.

03

In-process control

Relevant dimensions and production characteristics can be checked during manufacturing.

04

Final inspection

Finished components are inspected against the agreed drawing and project requirements before release.

Dimensional Inspection

Manufactured to drawing. Verified to drawing.

Critical dimensions are inspected using measurement methods appropriate to the component geometry and tolerance requirements.

Inspection requirements are established according to the individual project.

Material Traceability

Know what your component was made from.

Where required by the project specification, material and production information can be maintained alongside the component order.

Material grade

Identification of the specified production material.

Batch information

Relevant material or production batch references.

Supplier documentation

Material documentation where specified and available for the project.

Part identification

Project, drawing or component references used to connect production to customer documentation.

DOCUMENTATION CAN INCLUDE

Dimensional inspection resultsMaterial documentationProduction referencesDrawing revision referencesComponent identificationProject-specific inspection records

Documentation requirements should be defined when requesting a quotation so they can be incorporated into the production workflow.

Revision Control

The right component. To the right revision.

Industrial components often evolve throughout the life of a machine or product. Production requirements are therefore linked to the drawing and revision information supplied for each project. When submitting a repeat order, the relevant component and drawing revision can be confirmed before manufacturing begins.

Quality requirements for your project?

Send us your drawing together with any specific inspection, material or documentation requirements. Defining these requirements at quotation stage allows them to become part of the manufacturing process from the beginning.
